The end of the calendar year and the coming end of school for the holidays will put a pause on your outreach and impact with students. You may be asking, “Is there any activity I can plan early in the New Year that you can suggest I do? Could you give me a list of a few priorities that should guide my plans for the rest of the school year?”
If you can relate at all to the questions and statements made above, we want to aid you in your planning for the rest of the school year. An early December Christmas Outreach would be a great place to start as you finish up this year.

Interest in new ministry activities will begin to rise in January. There is a small window where there is openness to starting things or getting back involved, so this is a critical time for which to prepare. There are a couple of ideas that we employ that will help you reach your goals: FastBreak, an Evangelism Blitz, and/or International Projects.

FastBreak is the winter student conference that Student Venture puts together. It is the perfect way to expose students to student led movements of evangelism and discipleship. Students will receive training in evangelism, prayer and leading others spiritually. They will see how other students have overcome the culture by exercising faith and they will be encouraged to do the same at their school.

An Evangelism Blitz is the perfect way to walk into the season of openness that will take place as the second semester starts. Whether you use one of the outreach ideas outlined on the www.gocampus.org site or questionnaire or the Most Wanted strategy, organize your students to tell their friends about how they can know Christ personally. You will need to train students how to share their faith (we recommend that you train them in using an evangelism tool - we offer, the Connecting with God booklet). We also recommend that you help them organize students to pray for the people with whom they want to introduce to Christ.

International Missions Projects are a third way to take advantage of the missional seed brewing on the heart of your students. There is nothing that develops compassion and mission like being in another culture where you are depending on God to get by and taking steps to share God’s love with those around you. Student Venture offers trips to four different continents where you will be focused on leading in evangelism with primarily middle and high school students. Take a big step of faith GO Global!

As the leader of your outreach to middle and high school students in your community, you are charged with setting the pace and providing meaningful ministry opportunities for those involved in your work. Taking a look at your calendar, plans and goals will allow you to get a head start in preparing your students for maximum impact as they reach out to their friends. Pray through your plans and see if our suggestions might assist you in your role as leader. If one of our coaches can help you in your planning and preparation, feel free to reach us either online or by phone!
